I am a sociologist using quantitative methods to study the role of work organizations in pay inequality, focusing on the changing US economy. I examine earnings differences between people in different class, race, and gender categories. My work uses linked employer-employee data to connect micro interactions and meso processes to macro trends and population distributions.
My problems and approaches are general, drawing from different schools of organizational sociology enriched with labor process, feminist, political economy, and other critical perspectives. I view pay determination as a political process situated and shaped in relations of production.
I hold a PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2025) and an AB from Amherst College (2010).
